Spend a day exploring Florida's waterways at your own pace. Pick up your solo kayak, head to your chosen launch site, and discover mangrove waterways and scenic bays. Look for coastal wildlife, pack a waterside picnic, or ask about adding a fishing rod for your day outdoors.

Your Rental at a Glance

• $60 for an 8-hour solo kayak rental for 1 person.
• Customer pickup and return; delivery is not included.
• 10-foot sit-on-top solo kayak; color may vary.
• Paddle, USCG-approved life jacket, and safety whistle included.
• $50 refundable security deposit, arranged separately from the $60 checkout charge.

Customer Pickup & Return

This option is best if you have a vehicle equipped to transport the kayak safely. Pick up your gear and return it after your rental. Coordinate pickup and return arrangements with us before booking.

Included Equipment & Deposit

• 1 solo kayak with capacity for 1 person.
• Lightweight kayak paddle.
• USCG-approved life jacket (PFD).
• Safety whistle clipped to the life jacket.

The separately arranged $50 security deposit is fully refundable when the kayak and gear are returned in the same condition as rented.

What to Bring

• Water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
• Water shoes or sandals.
• A waterproof case or dry bag for personal belongings.

Want to Fish While You Paddle?

Ask about adding a fishing rod when coordinating your rental. Bring the appropriate Florida fishing license if you plan to fish. Get a license from Go Outdoors Florida.

Weedon Island Preserve, St. Petersburg

Explore winding mangrove waterways and the 4-mile South Paddling Trail loop, with opportunities to spot coastal birds and marine wildlife. Nearby grass flats offer fishing opportunities for snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout. Check the tide chart; high or rising tide helps with navigating shallow mangrove waterways.

Tierra Verde and Shell Key Preserve

Explore seagrass flats, mangrove spots, and barrier-island scenery. Channels, passes, and grass flats offer opportunities for snook, trout, redfish, and tarpon during warmer months.

Fort De Soto Park and Campground

Explore sheltered estuaries and mangroves near the campground, away from open Gulf waves. Paddle backwater bayous or ask about routes toward the flats near the historic fort.
