Become a Local Bait Shop Beat Contributor
The Dish on the Fish, Direct from the Tanks
Local shop knowledge. Clear credit. Better connections on the water.
Own or represent a bait and tackle shop serving St. Pete, FL and nearby waters? Sunshine City Outfitters is inviting local shops to help build Local Bait Shop Beat, a fishing roundup connecting useful, clearly dated local advice with people planning a day on the water.
We're preparing our first edition. Contributor opportunities below are planned; shop participation, featured content and referral arrangements will be confirmed individually before being presented as active.
How we plan to feature participating shops
Your shop's website link
Help readers find your business through a clearly credited shop name and a link to your official website alongside your approved contributions.
A video introducing your shop
We plan to feature a shop video on our website so customers can learn about your business, the waters you serve, and your bait and tackle offerings. Tell us whether you have an existing video or would like to discuss a store introduction. We'll agree on the content, placement and permission to use it before posting.
Connections with our rental customers
Sunshine City Outfitters rents fishing rods, fishing gear and kayaks. We plan to help rental customers looking for bait and tackle find participating shops near their chosen fishing area. A referral is a helpful local connection, not a promise of a sale or a guaranteed number of visitors.
Credit for your local knowledge
Your approved report can identify your shop, its reporting area, and the date and period covered. Contributor names can be included when approved. We won't present your participation as confirmed until we've agreed with you.
What a useful contribution includes
A short update is a good starting point: which waters you're covering, when the observations were made, what's biting, recommended live or natural bait, artificial lure suggestions, and useful timing notes. Please distinguish current observations from general seasonal advice and flag any recommendations that need context.
You don't need to cover every area. Tell us the stretch of water your shop knows best and how often you'd be comfortable providing an update.
Our planned reporting areas
Weedon Island · Gandy Causeway & Bridge · Bay Pines · Johns Pass · Madeira Beach · Treasure Island · St. Pete Beach · Boca Ciega Bay · Tierra Verde & Fort De Soto · Skyway North Pier · Offshore
Agree on the details before we post
We'll confirm shop attribution, official links, reporting dates and any edits with you. Please only offer photos, logos or videos you have permission to share, and let us know where you approve their use. Website, video and social-media reuse will be discussed separately as needed. No current partnership or report is implied by this invitation.
Tell us about your shop
Email your shop name, official website, location, contact name, waters you cover and any shop-video ideas. We'll follow up to discuss a contribution and the planned features. Please don't send private customer information.
